Shellock, a resident of Orlando, Fl. holds a one stroke lead over Ken Looper and Garrett Osborn, who was also the 54 hole co-leader. Both at 12-under par for the event.
Carding only one bogey to his four birdies in round three, Shellock played steady golf today to take the lead into tomorrow's final round. His lone bogey came at the par-4, 9th hole.
Looper, a Mandeville, La. native is playing about as steady of golf as he can, carding three straight rounds of 66 so far here in Pensacola.
Beginning his third round with a bogey on the opening hole, the former LSU Tiger righted the ship carding six birdies on the day, while only giving one more stroke back at the par-4, 8th. He did end with good momentum after birdies on Nos. 9, 11, 12 and 17 to take into Friday.
Osborn was the birdie man on-course early in his round today, opening up with birdies on four of his first six holes. Including back-to-back birdies on Nos. 1 and 2, followed by back-to-back birdies again on Nos. 5 and 6.
The former UAB golfer did cool down as his round went on however, carding two bogeys to nine pars over his next 11 holes. Ending his round at 2-under on the day and 12-under overall.
Pensacola native Will Dottley continues to play strong, steady golf this week. After rounds of 68 and 71, Dottley carded a 5-under 65 in today's third round to move into a tie for 11th, heading into tomorrow's final round.
His score of 65 was bettered only by Nate McCoy who bested him by one stroke with a 6-under, 64.
Shellock takes a one shot lead into the final round at the Pensacola Country Club at 13-under over Looper, and two strokes over Looper and McCoy.
