Frys.com Open: What to Expect from Tiger Woods

When the Frys.com Open begins tomorrow it will not be just another Fall Series event on the PGA Tour. It will mark the return (yet again) of Tiger Woods to the world of golf since missing the cut in August at the PGA Championship.

This will also mark the first time the former No. 1 player in the world will tee it up in a Fall Series event in his career.

He will be paired with the top-ranked amateur player in the world, Patrick Cantlay, as well as 2010 British Open Champion, Louis Oosthuizen.

Many who cover the sport as well as fans of Woods and golf itself are all asking the same question, "What do we expect to see out of Tiger Woods?"The answer to that question is seemingly impossible to know, especially if you go off of his recent play on the PGA Tour and where he ranks in certain statistical categories in 2011.

Woods, as stated above is coming off of a missed cut at the PGA Championship at the Atlanta Athletic Club in August.

He is currently ranked 184th in driving accuracy, 60th in strokes gained putting and 53rd in scoring average.

Some trouble areas for Woods recently have seen him struggle off the tee with his driver. Which comes as no surprise as he has never been a "great" accurate driver of the golf ball.

However, his ability to scramble from off the fairway and give himself a shot at birdies or at the minimum, a chance to save par is where Woods was the best.

In more recent times, that has been his undoing.

So, we go back to the question of what can we expect to see from Woods this week at the Frys.com Open?

He stands by his recent statements that he is "close", whatever that means.

We can expect to see record galleries for a Fall Series event, loads of coverage from the networks on Woods and limitless analysis of what he is doing both right and wrong.

Other than that, there is really no primer to go by with his recent performances in order to really give an accurate assessment of what we could expect to see from the former No. 1 player in the world.

Unfortunately to some, it will be a wait and see this week as to what we get from Tiger.

What are you expecting to see from Tiger Woods this week?
