Brand opened his round by book-ending his opening nine with multiple birdies.
Coming right out of the shoe, he birdied two of his three opening holes. Adding back-to-back birdies on Nos. 8 and 9, took him to 4-under at the turn.
Parring the 10th and 11th, the Charleston, WV. native seemed to light a fire in his game. With only one bogey on his round, coming at the par-3, 14th. Brand would add five more birdies on his inward nine. Circles on the card at Nos. 12, 13, 15, 17 and 18. Always nice to end a round with a birdie on the final hole.
The 25-year old seems to be finding his game here in Salisbury, after missing the cut last week at the Columbia Classic.

Stanley also firing an opening round 8-under to tie for the over night lead with Brand. Kept his card clean en route to his 63.
Similar to Brand's round, Stanley also found birdies in pairs at the Country Club of Salisbury.
The Spartanburg, SC. resident went back-to-back birdies on Nos. 3 and 4, followed another pair of birdies on Nos. 8 and 9. Making the turn as his co-leader did, at 4-under after nine.
Also coming off a missed cut at the Columbia Classic. Stanley again would bunch birdies together on his inward nine.
Opening his back nine up with two pars on Nos. 10 and 11, the 24-year old would go back-to-back yet again with birdies on 12 and 13. Adding two more circles to his card on 15 and 17. Stanley would head to the clubhouse with a share of the lead at 8-under par.
Brand and Stanley share a one stroke lead over Timothy Madigan and Trevor Banks. Who both carded opening rounds of 7-under, 67. A group of four golfers are two back at 6-under par heading into round two at the Salisbury Classic.
