Keegan Bradley doing Serious Prep Work for Masters

The reigning PGA Champion is not content with winning just one major, and being considered a flash in the pan player.

Keegan Bradley is preparing for the Masters with some serious work and ear chewing from two of the best at Augusta.

Jack Nicklaus and Phil Mickelson.

Together, Nicklaus and Mickelson have a combined nine green jackets hanging in the closet. Of course, six for Nickalus and three for Lefty.

Bradley was recently given one of Mickelson's old Masters' yardage books, from Jim Macky. Mickelons's caddy.

I'm sure there is some very valuable information on Augusta National in those pages.

The two-time PGA Tour winner is also planning a dinner with Nicklaus in the coming weeks. Where I'm sure he will get more than his fill of tips and tricks from the Golden Bear, about Augusta National.

Bradley knows how much information can be obtained from Nickalus on playing the Masters.

Just ask 2011 champion Charl Schwartzel.

The South African picked Nickalus's brain before teeing it up last April at Augusta. After the two met at a charity event in Florida.

"I knew Mr Nicklaus liked hunting so I started talking about that," said Schwartzel on the meeting.

A mutual friend asked Nicklaus to give Charl a tip about how to play Augusta.

"I expected some little vague, quick thing. But he actually took me through every hole and how he played every shot at the Masters."

"I had never seen the course, except on TV, and I was so in awe. I kept trying to remember what he said."

Obviously, those tips worked. Schwartzel went on to birdie his last four holes on his way to winning the green jacket.

We'll have to wait until April to see if all of Bradley's homework can pay off for him. As no first time player at the Masters has won the event since Fuzzy Zoeller did it in 1979.

Bradley would love to add his name to that list, come April.

  1. Golfer? I hope you didn’t miss the Mayakoba Golf Classic this weekend. Everyone looked like they enjoyed sunny beautiful Mexico! Especially first time PGA Tour winner, John Huh. Final round wrap-up video right here: http://bit.ly/yn4m6x
